Welcome to the home of Project Me

Welcome to the home of ‘Project Me’, a unique new programme designed to support those residents of Walsall (and the surrounding areas), who find themselves stuck in anxiety, depression, chronic stress, burnout, low levels of confidence and a lack of self-esteem, who may, or may not, have accessed other services in the past. This project has been funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and is happily opening its doors in September 2021. The grant funding has made it possible to launch a long-term solution for people in the community who are looking for a new route to help them with the mental and emotional health struggles that they are currently experiencing. Our first programme starts on the 22nd September 2021 and will finish on the 15th of December 2021. Applications for places on this exciting new programme are now open!

Who Can Join The Project?

Project Me™ is unique in structure and is ‘the new kid on the block’. It has been designed to support and enhance the existing services on offer to Walsall residents, who are unsure about where to turn next. There are no rigid criteria for entry; the project is open to anyone living in the Walsall borough (18yrs+) whether they are working, unemployed, currently receiving support, having been ‘signed off’ from support, or who have never received formal support because they have not met existing service providers criteria or have only recently started to struggle.   The uncertainties of the past 18 months of living with the Covid crisis, job uncertainty and redundancies, has left its mark on the mental and emotional health of Walsall residents, and we are offering Project Me as a new route for those individuals who are desperately needing support.

If you would like to be considered for this project, you have two options.

Firstly, you can sign up right now by completing the online ‘Initial Enquiry Form’ which you’ll find when you click the ‘sign up here’ button.   Alternatively, you can click the ‘I’d like to know more’ button and share your contact details with us. This will enable us to get in touch with you to complete the application over the phone. If it’s possible, we would prefer all initial applications to be completed online as this is a quicker and smoother process. We have listed below a detailed step by step process to walk you through each stage….
  1. Click on the ‘sign up here’ button below.
  2. This will take you to our information gathering page.
  3. On this page you’ll be greeted by a personal video message from Jules who explains a little more about WHY we ask the questions we do.

Jules says, “We believe that every person should have access to science and education-based learning that teaches about how our body and mind operates. We are passionate about educating people on how their brain, nervous system, mind, and emotions work, and why they react and behave the way they do! We also have a full library of ‘hands on’ practical, usable tools, techniques, and strategies to help our clients change ‘patterns of protection’ because ‘just coping’ is not enough.”

THE PROJECT IS THE BEES KNEES

JOIN THIS BUZZING COMMUNITY

‘Project Me’ is an informal 12-week group programme, that also has an element of personal support, with each group having a maximum of 14 participants. Alongside the weekly two-hour sessions, that take place from 10am till 12pm every Wednesday, there is also a substantial library of online classes, resources, and a complete toolkit that accompanies the programme.

LEARNING IS FUN

We like to make the learning fun for our students (clients) and provide tools and techniques that are science-based ‘brain & body hacks’ that can boost mood, increase motivation, and enhance mental states when our clients need them most. We also use ‘REFRAMES’ which help our students to redirect their thinking in a more accepting and compassionate way.

IT’S COMPLETELY UNIQUE IN THE COUNTRY

Project Me™ is unique, in that it offers participants a long-term experience of getting to know themselves, getting to know who their ‘ME’ is; their ‘real me’ – that’s very often buried underneath the pressures of everyday life. It’s certainly not a ‘quick fix’ and requires commitment and dedication from all who join.

PROJECT ME TESTIMONIALS

The following testimonials are from our participants who attended the pilot programme that we ran in 2020.

WHO DELIVERS PROJECT ME?

The programme has been created, and will be facilitated by, Jules Mitchell of The Big Happiness Experiment CiC which is a local Community Interest Company run by husband-and-wife team, Lee & Jules Mitchell. They have made it their life’s mission to equip people with the both the knowledge and the tools needed to look after their mental and emotional wellbeing to enable them to live more balanced, happier lives.
Jules says “Both Lee and I have experienced our fair share of depression and anxiety, and we have made it our life’s mission to share the knowledge, tools and techniques that made such a huge difference to our lives, with others, and we’ve been doing just that over the past 15 years, having supported thousands of clients in the programmes we’ve provided throughout the country, and we’re so happy to be finally supporting people in our own community.”

THE VENUE

The weekly sessions will be taking place at the friendly and welcoming coffee house; The Table, which can be found on Lower Hall Lane in the centre of town. We have a conference room at the back of The Table which is located on Lower Hall Lane in the centre of Walsall (see map) and is easily accessible by all main transport routes.

There is also a pay and display car park immediately opposite the venue.

IT’S TIME TO CHOOSE TO CHANGE!

This in-depth programme provides long term solutions that help our clients to realise; quite often during ‘light bulb moments’, that they can change the way they think and behave, and they have autonomy in their own lives. They have the ability to CHOOSE to CHANGE!
